The two days Classical Music Festival "The Malhar Festival" organised by the High Commission of India, Dhaka with Indian Council for Cultural Relations ( ICCR ) and IGCC started on 26th July, 2019.

The first day of the event witnessed breathtaking performances by stalwart Classical Musicians from India, Ms Shawani Shende Sathaye( Vocal ) and Pt. Kushal Das ( Sitar ) with Pt. Subhankar Banerjee (Tabla), Mr. Tanmay Abhay and Mr. Mukund Shreeram. The event was attended by a huge gathering including Hon'ble Ministers from the Govt. of Bangladesh, Cultural personalities, Diplomats and others at the Main theatre hall, Bangladesh Shilpokala Academy. The beautiful presentation of Raag Miyan ki Malhar by Ms. Sawani followed by Kajri and Raag Ramdaasi Malhar by Pt. Kushal Das left the audience spellbound and craving for more.

The two days festival ended on a high note on 27/07/2019 with the splendid performances by Ms. Priyanka Gope ( ICCR Scholar) from Bangladesh who left the audience spellbound with her melodious yet bold rendition of Malhar Raagas followed by stupendous and magnificent performance by two great Maestros from India, Pt. Debojyoti Bose on Sarod and Pt. Subhankar Banerjee on tabla.
