“Baul and Pitha Utsav, 08^th & 09^th February 2019”

Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre, High Commission of India, Dhaka is proud to organize “Baul and Pitha Utsav” by renowned artists from Bangladesh like Baul Poet Jamal Dewan, Baul Poet Salauddin and Yar Hossain Sarkar on 08^thFebruary 2019 and by renowned Artist Latif Sarker, Nayon Dewan and Dipu Dewan on 09^th February 2019 at Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC), House no.-24, Road No.-02, Dhanmondi, Dhaka, from 04.00 PM to 8:00 PM. Along with beautiful Baul performances there will be counters of Pithas where the visitors can enjoy delicious pithas from both India & Bangladesh.

Baul artist Jamal Dewan is a renowned artist, who had performed not only in Bangladesh but also around the globe like Japan, India, USA etc. He is a regular visiting artist of BTV, ETV, Shilpakala Academy & Bangla Academy. He had his formal training under Baul Anowar Dewan.

Baul artist Salauddin is a regular visiting artist of BTV, Shilpakala Academy & Bangla Academy. He had his formal training under Baul Alauddin.

Baul artist Yar Hossain Sarkar is again a regular visiting artist of BTV, Bangla Academy. He had his formal training under Baul Shah Alam Sarkar.

Baul artist Lotif Sarker is a renowned artist, who had performed in countries like USA, Japan, China etc. He had his formal training under Baul Abul Sarker.

Baul artist Noyan Dewan is a renowned artist of Bangladesh who performed in countries like Taiwan, India etc. He is again a regular visiting artist of Shilpakala Academy & Bangla Academy. He had his formal training under Baul Razzak Dewan.

Baul artist Dipu Dewan a regular visiting artist of BTV, Shilpakala Academy & Bangla Academy. He had his formal training under Baul Razzak Dewan.
