IGCC organises ‘An Evening of Rabindra Sangeet by Mr. Kamal Ahmed’

at Sufia Kamal Auditorium, Bangladesh National Museum,

Shahbagh, Dhaka at 6 PM on Sunday, 9 April 2017

 

Indira Gandhi Culture Centre is organising ‘An Evening of Rabindra Sangeet by Mr. Kamal Ahmed’ at Sufia Kamal Auditorium, Bangladesh National Museum,

Shahbagh, Dhaka, at 6 PM on Sunday, 9 April 2017. 

Mr. Kamal Ahmed is Director, External Service, Bangladesh Betar. He is from the Bangladesh Civil Service (Information), and has been working with Bangladesh Betar and BTV for the last 26 years. He has a Master’s degree in Soil Science from University of Dhaka. As he has a passion for music, especially Rabindra Sangeet, he took extensive training  in music from Chhayanaut under the direct supervision of Ustad Wahidul Haque, Ikhtiar Omar, Sirajus Salekin (Rabindra Sangeet) and Ustad Ful Mohammad (Classical music). 

Mr. Kamal Ahmed has given many performances in BTV and private channels and also in Tara TV in India. Besides giving stage performances in Bangladesh, he has also performed in India in Bangladesh High Commission, Agartala;  Maharaja Birbikram University, Agartala; All India Women’s Congress, Kolkata; “Kolpotoru Mela” Rajarhat, Kolkata; Birla Academy of Arts and Culture, Kolkata, Rabindra Sadan, Kolkata etc.

 Awards received by Mr. Kamal Ahmed include SAARC Cultural Society Shammanona; Bangabandhu Gobeshona Foundation Award; Adwaitia Mallabarman Smriti Shammanona and  Dhirendranath Dutta Shammanona.   

He has released fourteen solo and one mixed audio album, mostly Rabindra Sangeet, since 2007. Some of them are – ‘Sada Megher Bhela’, ‘Nana Ronger Dinguli’, ‘Godhuli’- A tribute to Kishore Kumar, ‘Baluka Belay’ – A Tribute to Hemanta Mukherjee, ‘Mohakabyer Kobi’ – A tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman etc.                

All are cordially invited to attend the programme. Entry is open to all (there is no need to collect Invitation Pass).
