Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre, High Commission of India, Dhaka organized a musical evening based on beautiful songs of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore at Kabi Sufia Kamal Auditorim, Bangladesh National Museum, Dhaka on 15th June 2019.

The theme of the musical evening was " Borshaar Bhalobasha". The Artist of the evening was renowned singer Mr. Kamal Ahmed. He enthralled the huge gathering with his beautiful and soulful voice. He presented a collection of beautiful Tagore songs based on the Rainy Season. The evening was very well appreciated by the huge gathering at the venue.

         Mr. Kamal Ahmed is a renowned media personality, music connoisseur & eminent singer in Bangladesh. He is better known as a devoted & noted Tagore Singer in addition to his responsibilities of a capable executive in Bangladesh Betar & Bangladesh Television. He is associated with “Chhayanaut”, an iconic cultural organization committed to build up music talents, especially Tagore Singers. There he got associated with veteran Tagore Singers like Wahidul Haque, Sanjida Khatun, Ikhtiar Omar, Serajus Salekin and others. He received lessons on classical music from Ustad Phool Mohammad. He is the former adviser of “Rabindra Sangeet Shammilon Parishad”. He got 5 (five) prestigious awards. SAARC Cultural Society Award, 2010, Bangabandhu Gobeshona Foundation Award, 2015, Adwaitia Mallabarman Award (2017) from Maharaja Birbikram University, India, Beer Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Award (2017) from Agartala, Tripura, India, FOBANA Award (2017) from Canada. He has shown his efficiency in Classical and Modern Song as well. He is an enlisted “Special Grade” singer of Bangladesh Betar & Bangladesh Television.

Mr. Kamal Ahmed has performed in many countries enthralling the audience globally. He believes – “We can never explore the wholesome of Rabindranath Tagore through diffusing his songs only, we must also study Tagore’s life, literature, thoughts and ideals.”
