1. REGISTRATION: Schedule of Online workshops (Guru Pratha 4) for learning Indian art forms by the renowned Gurus in Dhaka who studied in India under the ICCR’s Scholarship.

The Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC), announces commencement of Online workshops on Indian Classical Vocal Music and Nazrul Geeti as per the details given below:-

Bio-profile : Mr. Sujit Mustafa got enrolled in the BMus course of Visva Bharati University (Santiniketan) in the 1986-87 session under the ICCR Scholarship scheme. Later he was enrolled to Sriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra, Delhi to study Indian Classical Music under the Guru Shishya Parampara Scheme of ICCR Scholarship. He was under the guidance of Pandit Amarnath. He was trained under Ustad Hafiz Ahmed Khan also. He has also learnt Semi Classical music under Smt. Shanti Hiranand in the same institute. He received the ICCR scholarship for the second time in 1993-94 session to study the Patiala Gharana under the guidance of Pandit Vinod Kumar in Gandharva Mahavidyalaya (Delhi).


In Bangladesh he worked at Shanto-Marium University of Creative Technology as the head of administration to particularly look into developing the music department. He later on joined University of Development Alternative and helped the music department to make a very modern Syllabus and worked there as a voice and Classical music trainer. Apart from being a Nazrul exponent and trainer, he teaches basics of singing including voice training to music students from all Gharanas.

Bio Profile:- Dr. Priyanka Gope, National Award winner and noted Classical Vocalist has been making waves in the Bangladeshi Music Industry for nearly a decade with her soulful voice. She completed her Graduation and Masters in Classical Music From Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata with reputed ICCR scholarship which is given by Govt. of India; Alongside Serving as Assistant Professor at the Dept. of Music in University of Dhaka, she was trained under the guidance of Pt. Arun Bhaduri and Pt. Urmi Dasgupta. She has performed at many prestigious events in Bangladesh and Abroad (USA, UK, India, Russia etc). She is a recipient of several national and international awards including Gold Medal presented by the Prime Minister of Bangladesh and Dover Lane Music Conference, India.

4. Registration will require online filling of registration form. No fees is required for any of the workshops. Registration is mandatory.

5. LAST DATE FOR REGISTRATION IS 24 April 2021. NO REGISTRATION WILL BE ALLOWED AFTER THE LAST DATE OF REGISTRATION.

6. Registration for each batch would be limited to 50 students per batch for each subject.

7. Once registered for a particular batch of workshop the same CANNOT be altered during the duration of the workshop. A participant cannot apply in both the subjects simultaneously as the timing of the workshop will coincide with each other.

8. There will be 4 sessions in the workshop which will include 1 session a week. Each session will be of 45 mints(approx). Each session will be live in Google Meet. Those participants who can join classes in Google meet may apply. The links will be sent to the participants through email. Thus, it is requested to fill in proper email ids while filling up the registration form. The workshops will start from Friday (for Nazrul Geeti) starting from 30 April 2021 and from Saturday (for Indian Classical Vocal) starting from 1 May 2021. The students will then be asked for feedback or questions by the Gurus as per schedules fixed by the Gurus. At the end of the workshop the student will be asked to send a video of self performance on any particular lesson decided by the Guru, following which the Guru will judge and decide eligibility of the students to receive a certificate for the workshop.
