IGCC organises an evening of Rabindra Sangeet by Ms. Sutapa Chakrabarty and Tabla Recital by Pandit Parimal Chakrabarty from India at Kobi Sufia Kamal Auditorium, Bangladesh National Museum, Shahbagh, Dhaka at 6.30 PM on 19 August, 2017 

          IGCC is organising an evening of Rabindra Sangeet by Ms. Sutapa Chakrabarty and Tabla Recital by Pandit Parimal Chakrabarty from India at Kobi Sufia Kamal Auditorium, Bangladesh National Museum, Shahbagh, Dhaka at 6.30 PM on 19 August, 2017. 

Ms. Sutapa Chakraborty got inspiration in music from her parents in early childhood. From the age of five, she started learning Sitar under the guidance of Smt. Dipti Chanda and later from the eminent Sitarist, Sri Satyanarayan Mondol. She learnt Rabindra Sangeet under the tutelage of Sri Prasanta Sengupta, a renowned Rabindra Sangeet artiste and a senior disciple of the eminent artiste Sri Subinoy Roy. Ms. Sutapa is a regular artiste of All India Radio, Kolkata, and Kolkata Doordarshan. She has given many performances with well known artists in different parts of India. She has also done various research works on Rabindranath Tagore and Rabindra Sangeet. 

Pandit Parimal Chakrabarty is a leading Tabla player of India. Parimal started exploring the hidden joys of music from a tender age of four under the guidance of his father Sri. Nikhil Chandra Chakrabarty. Later he got the opportunity to take talim from Late Ram Dhrube and Late Padmabhushan Pandit Gyan Prakash Ghosh. Since 1976, he is under the tutelage of versatile Tabla Maestro Late Pandit Shankar Ghosh, a doyen of Farukkabad Gharana. He stood 1st in All India Radio Music Competition from Kolkata and thereafter became an “A” grade artiste of All India Radio. He also got the “Top Grade” from All India Radio. He has participated in more than seventy National Programmes of All India Radio and Doordarshan including his Tabla Solos and Akashvani Sangeet Sammelans. He has given performances at many major conferences in India as well as abroad with well known artists. Several of his CD’s and cassettes have been released by HMV, TIMES MUSIC, T-SERIES, BIHAAN MUSIC and many other music companies. 

All are cordially invited to attend the programme. Entry is open to all (there is no need to collect Invitation Pass).
